STMC recently completed a cryogenic deflashing test for a variety of nitrile (NBR) O-rings sent by an overseas client. The products came in four different sizes and were originally produced using tear-trim molds.
While suitable for manual trimming, these molds result in thicker flash grooves and higher material usage. During the test, STMC successfully removed all excess flash using advanced cryogenic deflashing technology.
Based on the results, STMC recommended switching to cryogenic deflashing molds. This change could help the client save at least 20% in material costs. Additionally, the automated deflashing process is much faster than manual trimming, significantly improving efficiency.
This test demonstrates how STMC’s solutions support global customers in reducing costs and enhancing productivity through innovative technology.
