STMC Cryogenic Deflashing On-site Shooting for Fluororubber

STMC delivers on-site mass production footage of fluororubber component cryogenic deflashing, directly demonstrating the automated processing advantages of its Extreme Jet series cryogenic deflashing machines for highly tough fluororubber, helping sealing part manufacturers resolve core pain points in post-molding deflashing.

Fluororubber features outstanding high and low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and superior sealing performance, and is widely used in high-end sectors including new energy, hydraulic equipment and precision instruments. However, fluororubber boasts extremely high toughness, and mold flash and parting line burrs generated after compression molding have long plagued manufacturers. Traditional manual trimming with scissors carries obvious drawbacks: it is time-consuming and labor-intensive with rising labor costs; manual finishing easily scratches the sealing surfaces of products and causes workpiece defects. In addition, inconsistent manual operation standards lead to large dimensional fluctuations across batches, failing to meet the strict dimensional tolerance requirements of high-end components and hindering stable delivery of mass orders.

Drawing on years of research and development experience in low-temperature processes, STMC’s cryogenic deflashing machines feature optimized processes tailored for fluororubber processing. Entire connected rubber mold blocks can be fed directly without pre-splitting by hand, eliminating numerous pre-processing steps. Leveraging liquid nitrogen low-temperature embrittlement technology, the equipment precisely controls chamber temperature to rapidly embrittle only thin, tiny flash while maintaining the inherent toughness of the fluororubber product bodies. Combined with uniform impact from controllable high-speed media, all burrs on surfaces, inner holes and hard-to-reach crevices can be removed in a single cycle.

On-site processing results show that fluororubber components treated by cryogenic deflashing feature clean, seamless trimming and smooth, uniform surfaces. Dimensional consistency across full batches is significantly improved, effectively cutting appearance defect rates. The full set of equipment supports round-the-clock automated mass continuous production, replacing multiple manual workers, drastically reducing labor costs and shortening production cycles, and truly achieving quality improvement, cost reduction and efficiency gains for fluororubber post-processing procedures.
